Aloha, friends and neighbors

Aloha in the Hawaiian language means many things, most notably “hello” and “goodbye.” Today has been certainly been an “aloha” kind of day.

Today, August 4th, marks two events.  First, the launch of the latest incarnation of  Second, the funeral of Marv Cummings - long-time friend, landlord and tenant of The Amplified Group.

As many of you know, we’re working on our third year here at our current location.  For a good portion of that time, Marv, who owns the complex we are in, subletted our rear office from us.  It’s an odd-sounding combo to be both landlord and tenant, but that’s the way it’s worked well for us.  A long-time business owner and philanthropist in the Springfield, MO area, Marv was a wealth of knowledge and one-liners.  In fact, he was about the same age as myself when he started his own business, as well.  Any time I’d go fishing for advice, he’d normally have some nugget of wisdom that came in handy.  More than anything else, the one thing he’d repeat was, “Hey, just keep it up and keep doing what you’re doing.  If you keep your nose to the grindstone - keep working hard - it’ll pay off.  It always does.”

So that is just what we intend to do: work hard for ourselves and our clients.

Which brings me to the day’s other important occasion: the launch of the newest version of our site.

We hope you like it and find it helpful in learning more about The Amplified Group - both what we’ve done and, more importantly, what we can do for you.  In the days, weeks, months and years to follow, we’ll be continually adding new features and folios to the site.  A highlight of the new site will be this blog you are reading.  Please plan on subscribing to our RSS feed, signing up for our newsletter and checking back in regularly.  When you do, we promise not to waste your time.  In fact, one of the main goals of the company’s blog is to simply amplify you with advice and information that you can use.  We’ll cover everything from web and print advertising, design, web development, marketing, general life items and much, much more.

So stay tuned.  You won’t want to miss a moment.  I promise.

Aloha, friends and neighbors.
