2007 is almost upon us and it’s probably time we all did some new things to improve our bottom line. Over the next few weeks, I’m going to offer some tips in how to better market your company through your current (or soon to be) website and print pieces.
Tip Number One: Get the facts.
To market effectively, learn these two things: who visits your website and how those people arrived there. Many people use stat counters on their websites, but in reality are told no usable information. They may be told how many “hits” or “visitors” they have, but most of that information is misleading.
To gain the best marketing research from your website, think back to the five “W’s”: who, what, when, where, why (and how.) To learn real, accurate information, I prefer Mint by Shaun Inman. It’s probably the most popular, detailed stat system in use currently, and one that we personally suggest to all of our clients. It incorporates most everything you need to know, plus some.
